Hovercrafts Experiment Lab Report

In conclusion, the hovercraft worked on the lower grit sandpaper but when it came to trying the higher grit the hovercraft did not move as well or at all. On the table in the data section, it shows that the hovercraft moved .100 on the Smooth surface or the sandpaper at 220 grit. On the Medium sandpaper at 100 grit, it moved almost freely at .75. But when we put the hovercraft to the test on the Super Rough Surface sandpaper that is 50 grit it would not move a centimeter. the reason it would move freely is there is an air cushion underneath and on the 220 grit and the 100 grit there was more of a cushion so it could move easily. But with the 50 grit the air cushion was there but since the 50 grit is more textural the hovercraft could not

Propulsion is a force that pushes forward or drives and object forward. This concept can be seen in action with the use of a balloon powered car; this car demonstrates a type of propulsion system in which it produces thrust and potential energy and uses the kinetic energy that it will gain from the movement to push the car forward. The thrust is obtained from the balloon which applies Newton’s third of motion that states, “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Specifically, the balloon car’s action of the air escaping from the straw causes the reaction being the movement of the car. In my car, the design was formulated to best execute those actions with the fairly light materials allowing the car to have the maximum potential…
