Ones goal is to graduate and then go work, but some people don’t seem know the building they want to work at and I will explain the building where I am going to work once I graduate. Downtown Houston on 1200 Travis Street is a 28-story building, which serves for the main headquarters of the Houston police department. The building was opened in 1967 and named after officer Edward A. Thomas where he served the Houston police for 63 years.
The Houston police department has 28 floors and is 386 feet in height with the buildings square feet is 575,000 and the average floor has the square foot of 16,500. The building has a 3-floor crime laboratory and the space for it is 40,000 square feet. There is a 20,000 square foot fitness center and a 10,000 square foot 24-hour emergency tactical command center. It also has a 5,000 square foot voice/data room and a fingerprinting lab. There are different divisions in the department like the auto theft is located on the 5th floor there is a crime lab division, robbery division, and a special ops with 230 employees and only one captain.
