What wing of rooms would you add if you were the director: what exactly would the new wing have in it, and how would it be designed, shaped? What would be your plan for interesting museum-goers in the new wing? A wing is a narrative or story, too—what is the plan for how they would move through it?
I have visited the Houston Museum of Fine Arts (HMFA) with my sister several times since I came here. All the collections are beautiful and marvelous, especially the collections of paintings and sculptures from the Renaissance to the 19th Century. It was a special exhibition which only opened for a few weeks. It covered the evolution of Degas's art style from his early years until his death. The exhibition was fascinating to me because I can see how the artist learned from others, how he was influenced by his teachers and how he finally came up with his unique style. It was a journey to examine a great mind and a beautiful soul. Therefore, I want to establish a new wing with the permanent exhibition of a single artist. Visitors can have an exclusive look into the life and works of an artist. Therefore, they can have a better understanding of the art pieces and have an examination of the artist's life and how he reflects his life into his art. The HMFA cannot obtain and display classical works of a famous artist in the past like Van Gogh or Leonardo da Vinci because their paintings are too valuable for the museums displaying them to give up. Therefore, the museum should focus on the contemporary arts of the 21st Century. The modern arts are still very unpopular considering to classical arts. Hence, this art movement can make the museum
