The mission of the department of Housing and Residence Life is to “provide resources and opportunities for student learning and success by collaborating to build inclusive residential communities and experiences. I remember when I first moved into the dorms, I felt completely lost. I didn’t know where my classes were, I didn’t know where to get toilet paper, and I didn’t know where to put our trash. My RA’s goal was to help put all of these at ease and to make my transition a little easier. By helping the students acknowledge all of their resources, and by helping them solve their everyday problems, Resident Assistants are a prime example of the department of Housing and Residence Life mission.
