Househusband Trend Research Paper

It is common to see many women shoulder the financial responsibility in their family while men become a househusband staying at home and looking after children. I think this trend overturn our traditional value and has been proved it is a positive development.

The reasons for this change are various. Firstly, equal rights movements have made great progress. This is shown in the changes of the role men and women play in their family. It is normal to see women to gain qualifications and pursue their careers nowadays, and it is also socially acceptable for men to stay at home doing cooking and housework.
Another reason in this rising househusband trend is the increasing cost of living and people’s desire to have a higher living standard, which means almost everybody need to save money before they getting married or having children. Because of this, both parents need to work to support their lifestyle, but it seems impossible for women to assume childcare while coping with a job. Therefore, husbands would have to contribute their efforts to look after their children. …show more content…
This trend has reflected that gender discrimination in many families is no longer an issue. Women do not have to be titled as a homestay mom or get criticized by society just because they choose to pursue their careers . For men, who used to be recognized as breadwinners in their family ,can share their pressure now. This means that every one can choose freely what parental role they want to play in their family. For example, the marriage partners can choose who stays at home and who works according to their personal preference or who earns the most money. This is the true meaning of equality.

In conclusion, the changing role of men and women in the family can be marked as a desirable development in our modern society. I believe with this positive trend, our society has become more civilized and
