Thank you for contacting me about House Resolution 417. I appreciate knowing your thoughts on this issue.
As you may know, Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) introduced House Resolution 417, to impeach the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) director Regina McCarthy for making false and misleading during a Congressional hearing about the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule.

A Price Too High Judge Charles Pickering was spending a January day hunting in 2001 with his son Chip Pickering, when he was asked if he wanted a recommendation from Senators Trent Lott and Thad Cochran to President Bush to be nominated for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. After already being asked once and declining, he decided he would not mind a change of pace and accepted the offer. After a lot of lengthy paperwork and background checks, Judge Pickering was put up for nomination on May 25, 2001. A day before Pickering was put up for nomination Republican Jim Jeffords decided to switch to an Independent, giving control of the Senate to the Democrats.…

After Mary Surratt’s death sentence was decided, five members of the military commission who found her guilty created a petition requesting clemency and a lifetime sentence for Surratt instead of hanging. Then, they gave it to Secretary of War Edward Stanton, who supposedly delivered it to President Johnson to review. However, the president said he never saw the petition for leniency, and Stanton tells the commission that only the original sentences have been approved of. Part of the conspiracy lies here, for individuals believe someone, possibly Stanton, the president, Holt, or all of them, tried to suppress the conspirators’ rights by lying about what happened to the petition. Still trying to save her, Mary Surratt’s lawyers file a writ of habeas corpus to try to get her a civilian trial.…

He then pin points seven separate acts when Clinton obstructed the truth. More House Managers, or the prosecutors in charge of the trial, elaborated on the seriousness of perjury. To finish the presentation, Henry Hyde summed it up by exclaiming, “This case is a test of whether what the founding fathers described as ‘sacred honor’ still has meaning.” By saying this we meant that the Senators had a duty to do what was best for the country, not follow their personal…

Everyone lies. It is the truth, and it is explained with great depth in Stephanie Ericsson’s essay. She claims, “We lie. We all do. We exaggerate, we minimize, we avoid confrontation, we spare people’s feelings, and we conveniently forget, we keep secrets, we justify lying to the big-guy institutions.”…

Greetings everyone. I immigrated to the US in the late 1870s, and I’m here today to defend all Chinese immigrants against your policies for immigration, who has been wronged, greatly wronged. Do not ask me how I came into this building or how I heard about your plan, because all I want is to finish this speech and express my discontentment and anger towards this outrageous treatment. I heard the exclusion laws are going to be extended for another 10 years, but more importantly, anyone who enters the border illegally will be imprisoned at hard labor for up to a year. And all I have to say is, what are you thinking, and how dare you?…

Most evil people in the world are described as being liars, but does this does not make all lies evil. Everyone lies and surely not everyone in the world is evil. Most people begin to lie at age four, but no one would call an innocent child evil. Many people would argue that people lie because they solely want to be deceitful, but not all lies are as simple as that. Stephanie Ericsson in The Ways We Lie discusses many different types of lies, and why people tell these types of lies.…

Most people will say that lying is never the answer, but they don’t always tell why. Lying often ends unethically, not only the can the lier be punished or feel guilty in the process, but it often goes further than anticipated. When looking back there seems to be more consequences on the result of the pretense than what the reward would have been if everything worked out and there was no lying. The Salem Witch Trials, the McCarthy Trials, and the McMartin Trials all proved that it is important to always be honest, regardless of the sacrifice.…

Bills start and finish their runs in the committees. The committees and subcommittees’ member play highly important roles to hash out the details of a bill. They are vital for the work needed of Congress – taking into consideration, influencing, and approving laws to administer to our nation. Eight thousand or so bills go to committee per annum. Less than ten percent of those bills make it out for deliberation because they are particularly controversial, therefore they die in committees.…

This holds true even in situations where dishonesty seems like the easy way out. Perhaps one of the least considered, and possibly most difficult, aspects of honesty is being honest with oneself.
