House Of Gold Figurative Language

Everyone’s lives consist of strenuous decisions - especially as you become older - which comes with more responsibility. The song “House of Gold” by Twenty One Pilots builds upon this idea and the laborious decision making that comes with it. The singer, Tyler Joseph, promises his mother to take care of her and love her although later on in the song he realizes what a huge impact on his life that this will create. The author uses figurative language, symbolism and tone to portray the theme: life is full of hard choices to be made and things often get in the way of our plans.
