The Hound of the Baskervilles, written by Sir Conan Doyle, has a movie adaptation. The Hound of the Baskervilles is a thrilling movie adaptation to the book. The Hound of the Baskervilles is about how Sherlock Holmes solves the mystery of the hound that haunts the Baskerville family. It is one of the most famous and celebrated works Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ever wrote. Although movies are supposed to be very similar to the book, in this case they are similar through the character adaptation of one of the main characters. Although, this movie was very different than the book as shown in the character adaptation of the villain and the ending. The Hound of the Baskervilles, the book, and The Hound of the Baskervilles, the movie, are very similar and vastly different because of the ending, Sir Henry, and Mr. Stapleton.

Sir Henry is the heir to the Baskerville estate. Sir Henry came from Canada in both. It showed in the movie and the book by how he acted and spoke. “Why in thunder should anyone follow or watch me?” ( Doyle 49). In the movie he had a classic Canadian accent (The Hound of the Baskervilles).Similarly in the movie and book he fell in love with Mrs. Stapleton. “From the first moment that he saw her(Mrs. Stapleton) he appeared to be strongly attracted by her…” ( Doyle 112). This relationship made it easier for Stapleton to kill him, because he told everyone that she was his sister. He did this so Sir Henry would come over more to his house, but in reality Mrs. Stapleton and he were married. In the end he was used as bait to catch the culprit, who wanted him dead. Holmes said that they were going to leave, so Stapleton would release the hound; and then, they would catch him red handed. Sir Henry recovered from the trauma showing his youthful, daring, and brave
