When Elie and his family are first taken from their home they are forced to give valuables to the officers. Also when the Hutu rebels requested money or valuables to spare a life. In both examples they both have to give something up that they cared about to save their life. Although, both share many similarities the biggest one is how people were beat to death. In both situations people were brought to the “camps” to die a horrific death. In the concentration camps that Elie was taken to people were shot, gassed, and even beat. In the small camps that the Tutsis were taken to people were also shot and beat to death. As a use of hatred towards both Jews and Tutsis they both share the similarities of being beat to death. Finally with this being said it is fair to say that Night and Hotel Rwanda share similarities. Night and Hotel Rwanda share similarities when people are put in camps, people give possessions, and when people are beat to death. Jews and Tutsis were treated almost identically when they were taken from their home and put in camps. When they both had to give valuables up and how they were punished by getting beat. With all I have said don’t forget how an event that took place about 20 years ago can be as similar as a catastrophe that took place nearly 80 years
