Hotel Advantages And Disadvantages

Good Essays
Growing up as a soccer player with a successful team, we traveled a lot. Often times the team decided to stay at a campground compared to a hotel. However, in high school as a part of the Speech and Debate Team, I traveled to hotels a lot. Each definitely has its own benefits and disadvantages. Deciding on the nature of the event in which a person is traveling for should open up their eyes to which option to take for their best interest, either camping or a hotel. Tough girls who played in the pouring rain and mud just to kick a ball into a goal and win a game were not afraid of much of anything, including the outdoors. We stayed at campgrounds for a lot of our trips for several reasons. Us girls spent a lot of time together, so it was nice …show more content…
For instance, a speech and debate tournament requires each student to wear a suit both days and look professional because they are representing their team and school. Having a hotel room allows students to be comfortable, clean, and relaxed because they do not have to worry about any duties like they would otherwise, which saves time in getting ready and packing up. Most of the time people feel that hotels are are a better option for every event due to cleanliness and convenience of luxuries. Sometimes, though, it is better to “rough it” and go out camping. Overall, I believe that a person should camp as much as possible. Not only does it connect a person with their surroundings, but also people to other people. Yes, hotels are great when the occasion of professionalism and neatness is involved, but there comes an event where camping is essential to being the best a person can be. If a family went out to a campground, there would be more opportunities for bonding, such as kayaking in the lake, swimming, playing beach-volleyball, hiking or biking on a trail, or even gazing at the stars while pointing out constellations. When a family goes to a hotel they can be tempted to gather around a television or to interact around the pool if the hotel has one. Because hotels are so homey and comfortable, people tend to not want to get out of the room and go do activities. All in all, campgrounds present more opportunities to bond and come in tune with nature, while hotels allow for only relaxation with normal everyday
