The Hospitality, hotel and lodging, and Healthcare industries, especially the Assistant Living Facilities, are extremely similar, in my opinion when it come the financials and the goals of the businesses. Both their main goals are to fill up a room and make money off the room and other services while providing a pleasant environment. They are customer oriented and have similar fees, start up cost and maintenance cost. When it comes to the physical price of the bed they don’t have much difference either. When it really comes down to it, the only real difference would be the additional medical care that is usually added in the healthcare side. Basically she is trying to explain how the end product is practically the same other than minor differences on the minor service differences and a couple of the regulations they follow. I feel like this line from the interview really stood out to me and explains how the actual industries are similar. Some of the differences were basically the fact that they have control of the person’s life and have to monitor the guest health in a more specific manor.
