didn’t know about healthcare. To me, it seems that though doctors are undoubtedly a centerpiece when it
comes to healthcare, it doesn’t look like they are actually part of the “patient care team”. Earlier in my life I
had an angelic view of doctors, and I figured that they were the people who would spend the most amount
of time bonding with patients. However, in the Riverside hospital I currently work at, what occurs is quite
the opposite. Nurses and assistants are really the people that are with and care for the patients at all

I want to learn more in depth
about both a doctor’s and a nurse’s role when it really comes down to it, and I feel that working in the free
clinic will help me experience things that I would not normally come across in a normal hospital setting. I
want to help those in need, but I feel that my passion is uncultivated because of my lack of experience with
the underserved, and I want to work in the clinic in order to fill that gap. In terms of what I can contribute,
time management is not a skill that I am lacking in, and I will definitely work hard as a volunteer. Over my
two years of experience volunteering, nobody has had anything close to a problem with my performance,
