A. The main activities that that I completed during my internship included filing patient information as well as inputting patient assessments in a data system. Patient filing took place majority of the time, filing including taking patient files alphabetizing by name and organization by type. Types varied from nurse’s notes to massage therapy to medication for every patient that Heartland Flint/Lapeer cares for. C. My task as an intern related to Heartland’s Mission by enriching lives. I helped make sure patient files were properly organized in order to decrease the chances of mixed up and increase the organization of patient information, in turn patients and families don’t have to worry about un-organization of information. In addition to organizing I could do tasks that the professional task didn’t have time to complete ranging from sending mail to working with employee payroll information. Since the office was in the process of switching computer systems it was important that all the patient files are in order to make a smooth transition from paper to electronic filing.
