I am not a troubled teen with behavioral issues and an unsettled past. Of course, ive had my fair share of depressing situations throughout my life, just as anyone else. However, I dont beileve that someone needs to have a traumatic life or a regretful past to go through any type of emotional therapy. For those who genrealy have an optimistic attitude, emotional therapy can still create a more focused and stress free mind. I know this because I have experienced a completely new unique way of thinking myslef. I always was curious what it was that brought me to this new way of thinking. Not once did I go see a conselour. My family members were also pressuring me into talking to one. They thought that simply talking to someone can make you feel a hundred times better. For me, this wasnt the case. Horse therapy is an excellent alternative to conseling because when individuals work with horses, they do not feel as if they are in a therapy session. It is easy to forget the chat you had with a conselor, but working with a large live animal can be a completely different experience. Equine Therapy can be used to treat a variety of emotional pains, such as autism, addiction, behavioral issues, and post traumatic stress disorder. Horses give many people an insight to their inner feelings. In fact, the main reason that horses are used for emtional therapy is that they are the mirror to your soul. Hallie Sheade, a liscensed professional counselor who runs equine connection counseling says, “They are capable of reading or becoming aware of how [a patients] feeling before im aware of it or even the client is.” For example, if the horse senses anger, it will back away.
