They will line up behind your doors and wait for you to open. They will grow anxious as they wait for the loud pop music to welcome them into your store. They will shop around in circles while the store CD rotates to the same song they came into. They will shop even after your store has closed. They once continued shopping even after a shooting had occured outside in the parking lot! They will try to find any little flaw in an item in hopes for a discount. You were hand selected during interviews for how you dressed, how pretty you were and if you were energetic...the typical ‘windsor’ girl. If you didn’t fit this criteria beyond the interview stage, H.P would pick you out in no time. Many girls hours were cut, managers were told to make them buy clothes to ‘fit in’ or fire them for any little reason. If H.P knew she had no direct reason to fire you, she would make a girls life at work miserable. If girls took H.P to court for unethical treatment, she would always win. You could never defeat H.P for she had a strong team of power behind her, everyone in the company knew of her, very few challenged her and won.

This girl was known as Kelly, and she soon became Heathers ‘project’. Kelly worked extremely hard, worked overtime, took peoples shifts and was a phenomenal teammate. Behind her great work ethic, was a young beauty school student living on her own at the age of nineteen. Of course, unlike most nineteen year olds Kelly had to work to pay bills and survive. Heather did not take the time to know Kellys story, but as someone who basically lived at Windsor I felt the need to get to know my coworkers. I knew that Kelly was driven to rise to the top in order to get a promotion. After 6 months of hard work, Heather finally took notice and decided to give her training to become a

Barbara Ehrienreich came up with the book Nickel and Dimed On (Not) Getting by in America in the most paradoxical way. She was in a French country-style place that offers $30 for lunch with Lewis Lepham. They were talking about the future articles that she may write for especially in the side of poverty.
