Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.. Hope plays a big role in people’s lives by giving them something to look forward to. In the book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part- Time Indian written by Sherman Alexie has hope play a significant role in the main character, Junior’s life.

In life we have our hobbies that allows us to escape reality for a bit. Junior’s hobby, drawing allows him to escape by providing him hope about his life. By drawing it makes him feel more understood since he believes that everyone can understand an image because it’s an universal language.
