Roy Eberhardt moves to Florida from Montana. He then becomes really good friends with Bea and Mullet Fingers. They discover baby owls that are living in the ground at a nearby construction site. There is only one problem; there is a new pancake house being built at the same place. In the end, together they save the owls although it causes a few problems.
This movie is somewhat believable, although when Mullet Fingers leaves the hospital without the nurse knowing isn’t very realistic. Roy getting picked on at his new school is very believable because that usually happens when you go to a new school. For the most part, the rest of the movie seems very real, at least while you’re watching it, and could probably happen in real life although it probably wouldn’t. …show more content…
You might think you know what is going to happen next, and something completely different might happen. That is what makes the movie so great. It keeps you on your toes, wondering what is going to happen next, and is not the least bit boring.
The setting they chose for Hoot was perfect. Florida, where it is warm almost the whole year, allowed Mullet Fingers to also be called “the barefoot kid.” The sunny atmosphere brightens up the scenes and makes the movie seem more entertaining. Choosing Coconut Cove, Florida also allows there to be the beach and somewhat tropical area where Mullet Fingers lives, and entertains
