I would be greatly honored to be a part of the honors program at ASU if I am seen fit enough to accomplish the tasks asked of me. I will be able to bring my diverse background, my various experiences in life, my love for extracurricular activities and charity, and my personal view on subjects. NHS is designed to help better students, and to show that you can always do better. It is a respectable program for students who have excelled in school, which includes: no discipline referrals, maintaining a high GPA throughout the year, and being a well behaved student. I as a student of W.T. Sampson high school would like to be a part of NHS because of all the hard work and dedication I have put into this school year. Another reason would be how good it looks on college applications; it would give me higher chances being accepted.…

WHY I WANT TO JOIN THE HONORS PROGRAM Alighting from a Boeing 747 jetliner on the JFK tarmac on Thursday evening, April 28, 2016, I walked into what could be called a new page in my life story—a new start. From personal experience, however, success is anything that can make an individual feel content with the life the person lives, whether planned or not. Success is not required to be something that leaves a mark on the entire world; success can just be something that leaves a mark on you. As Jon Krakauer, author of Into The Wild, once wrote “The basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure,” (77) I believe that everyone should follow their dreams and accept what comes without hesitation. For Chris Mccandless and Henry David Thoreau, however, success was more about finding out who a person really is by life experiences, personality, and attitudes…
