For this paper I was required to observe three speeches from a freshman honors public speaking class. The students in this class were giving their first speeches of the year, apparently K-state has been busy tweaking the way in which we teach public speaking. Considering this was the last speech I had to complete, I knew that I needed to put all of my resources into developing it. As for outside assistance, I thought it was extremely helpful to have time over the course of a few classes to develop it fully and get the opinions and advice from fellow classmates. Being able survey the class and gain their specific opinions on my topic put a lot less pressure on me and helped to be sure whatever I was doing fit the criteria.
