Additionally, I like to try and learn about what other people have ignored or have not been interested in. For example, in high school, I decided to partake in the math team at our school. Our math team competed in math competitions, and we did our best to learn and prepare for the test. Overall, I have had only a couple of astounding accomplishments and these were still meager compared to the rest. Although I have won a couple of these math competitions, winning is not why I participate. I participate because I try new things that I necessarily do not learn school and I have an opportunity for new challenging problems that test and enhance my abilities. Additionally, this is not the only area that I have tried to push myself. In the past, I have participated in science competitions, the physics Olympiad competitions, and Math circles of Chicago classes which are designed to teach math subjects that are not taught in school. …show more content…
As a result, I know that this is what I'll bring to the Honors College community. In this community, my curiosity can manifest in a myriad of different ways. Most importantly, I believe that I will add to the didactic environment of the Honors College. An important aspect of a scholastic environment is going beyond the classroom and in the past I have done this. As a result, I expect that the Honors College will provide this for me. Most importantly, being able to discuss with others about a subject area that I am learning about or wishing to learn about is imperative for me, and something that Honors College will hopefully provide for me. I also expect to be challenged in new ways to improve my ability to learn and whatever I am learning about. It is the accumulation of what I expect from and plan to do within the Honors College that I apply to be in it because with all these aspects my future will be

The Honors College at Auburn is designed to challenge the students that have showed academic excellence in their high school careers. The college should help students think more openly about the problems in today’s world, and lets face it, they are numerous. With the help of professors, the students in the Honors college should be able to pinpoint the source of a particular problem as well as the solution. I am not saying that the students will change the world with their way of thinking, but the students will be taught perspective. This type of thinking can only be mimicked in a challenging environment with people who are pushing each other to be better.…

I believe there is a more evident ambiance of respect in the Honors Program because, like the students, the professors are highly motivated. Additionally, the Honors students want to be in a more academically challenging environment and the professors want to teach these students who are hungry for knowledge. Furthermore, the smaller classroom settings are ideal for my learning process. With the smaller settings, there are less distractions and more individual attention which makes a difficult topic easier to comprehend. Also, I plan to take advantage of the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities since I have been accepted to the College of Engineering.…

To be quite honest with myself, I really am not sure why I’m so intrigued to apply and be part of the honors program at DePaul University. I’m an undergraduate who’s feeling so anxious but yet so terrified of being in college and not in high school. Just like any other undergraduate I want to fit in and have a lenient 4-year college experience. But that’s not enough for me because I’m extremely aware of my capacity not just as an individual but also as a student. I’m someone who enjoys the thrill of being challenged, why?…

I believe that the University of Georgia Honors Program would open up countless doors for me throughout my UGA career, and it would allow me to thrive and contribute to a smaller environment of more dedicated and passionate students. Coming from a small, very academically advanced private school, I am very familiar with and fond of this type of environment. I also believe that my high school experience, in such a unique and diverse school, would allow me to contribute greatly to the honors community. The Honors Program’s access to smaller class sizes would allow me to be in closer contact with my teachers, something that I benefited from greatly in high school.…

While at UIC, I hope to learn as much as I can through different methods, such as through classrooms, clubs, internships, and research programs. I hope to apply the knowledge that I obtain through those methods in my future career field. Being a part of the Honors College will place me in smaller classes, which I feel I will benefit from, as it is easier to become to closer to peers who share the same educational interests as me in a tight-knit community. It seems like every day that someone comes up to my brother and I asking,” Are you twins? What is it like to be a twin?” Aside from our near identical appearance, we always seem to top it off by answering at the same time, making people think,”wow they really are the same.” When seventh grade came this all stopped. Having been separated in every class and in after school activities, I found my own world away from my brother.…
