Somehow I always get the feeling that I could do more. I was excited about my leadership position before the semester started because I thought I was going to have a lot of time to get involved in all the honors activities. I found this to be very far from reality once the semester started, since I am taking 14 credits, working part time, and volunteering. I also have to take care of my house, which is a lot of work. Cleaning, paying bills, and keeping everything functioning actually requires a lot of time. I have also started looking for a new place to live, which is very time consuming. I am also starting my application for the All USA scholarship, which will be taking a lot of my time soon. Despite all of …show more content…
I have a genuine desire to participate in everything, but the reality is that time is limited. I have been getting a couple of extra hours every day by cutting off my sleep, which has actually allowed me to stay on track with all of my school work.
Something I also have reaffirmed about myself is my desire to help in any way I can. PACC is very important to me because it gives me the opportunity to do something I believe is meaningful. It also breaks my heart not to be able to foster the many pets in need. I do what I can while I’m there, and I also try to get other people to feel passionate about it too. So far this semester we have about 12 new, committed volunteers.
I have also been volunteering with Goodwill, tutoring every other Thursday from 1 to 5. I enjoy this very much. I like to meet young people and watch them try to improve themselves and succeed. Many of them are also very amusing. They say very interesting
