English 1301 Basics and Important Information
I feel as if this class will be challenging due to the fact that it is an honors class. Although I work and go to school full time, I decided to take this class so that I can improve my writing skills and become better with my composition. I hope to gain more writing skills and learn the actual difference of all types of sentences.
1) To begin with, one of the most important topics that I reviewed while on ecampus was the syllabus. Understanding the course outline is important because that’s how students stay on top of their education and become successful in class. However, the syllabus is even more important when taking online classes because it provides ways in order to use the resources online and how to get in touch with your professor since you don’t have one on one contact with he/she. Therefore, students should automatically check out the syllabus on the first day the class is made available and write down the important dates on their planner.

It’s challenging taking online courses for an honors class when you don’t have one on one time with the professor so that is why this tab comes in handy. Knowing how to utilize the resources the professor gives you is important and I thought it was nice enough for the professor to even include videos and how to work the apps he provided so that the students can have easy access to the apps. Also, it is important to know how to easily rate your own essay before turning it in. Therefore, if students have any questions regarding anything in this course, they should visit the resource tab before contacting the

I have read and understand the syllabus, calendar, and addendums. I understand that there are deadlines poster on the calendar that must be met and that there will be no extensions for any assignments. I do not have that many expectations for the class other than to learn statistical methods for collecting data. As for the organization of the class I am grateful to have the entire week to work on chapters instead of certain days. In my experience online classes are extremely organized and easy to use so I am hoping this course can supply us with the information easily.…

The writing expected from college courses is one that most are unfamiliar with. Although students learn basic English skills throughout grade school and up to high school, most of the advanced steps are forgotten by the time the student is to enter college. Paired with this, are the nontraditional students, who haven’t studied advanced academic language for long periods of time. Professors are expecting students of all kinds of study to have a high academic vocabulary and high writing skill. Often times a gap in remedial writing courses within the first semester or so.…

English 1105 has been an important learning experience for me and my writing processes. After a response paper, discussion boards, and formal essays, my writing style and process has changed drastically from how it was prior to this class. Each assignment that was required has shaped me as a writer. The response paper helped me to analyze the content of an argumentative work and put into words how I felt about each aspect. Although not time consuming assignments, the discussion boards have provided opportunities to discuss issues with classmates openly and argumentatively.…

A Reflection of Learning in English 111 As a high school student taking online college level courses in order to successfully pass a great deal of work ethic is necessary. Online courses in general are difficult for students due to the students’ success being mostly dependent on the student and not the teacher. In order to turn in the assignment by the deadline, students are required to plan out when they intend to work on assignments this in addition to the fact that it is a college level course. The expectations of a college level course are different from what is expected in a high school level course. Within a college level course, there is a focus on evaluating sources in depth to determine how reliable they are, while in a high school…

At the beginning of the semester, I viewed myself as a creative writer. After attending this class I realized that there is a lot more that goes into writing an essay, or a research paper, than just creativity alone. I have learned that it is very important to be aware of my strengths and weaknesses in my writing. Taking this class has helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses in my writing skills, and it has given me the opportunity to strengthen the areas in which I was weak. An example of this is that I have become aware of my grammar and spelling errors as the semester progressed.…

Some people think that as long as they can speak a language or communicate with other people, it is enough. However, these people are totally wrong.
