Honor Society

Ever since the school started, we have had more and more students from different grade levels attend here. However, it is quite clear that our school is still rather small compared to others, but nethertheless, teachers and students have begun to create clubs dedicated to activities such as sports, music, artwork, boardgames, and so on. The school has also developed other traditional programs such as Student Council, and from what I heard, our school is soon going to develop our very own Honor Society program. However, as we continue to grow, we come to the subject of something many people don’t really tend to consider, and that is our mode of transportation. Currently, when we have an event that involves leaving the school, we normally rent …show more content…
With a bus, you only need one driver. Not only that, the average school bus can carry almost 10 times the amount of students you can carry in a normal car, which is almost the entire population in the school, including teachers!

The main issue with renting a car is what you’re actually renting. Depending on what you rent also can affect how much the cars cost, and also if the cars you need are actually available for the date of the event. There was an issue not too long ago where the school had rented some cars to take the student council group to a meeting, but the cars were not available, thus the group missed the meeting which if you ask me, makes us look unprofessional and unprepared.

Finally, the bus can serve as a walking advertisement. What does that mean? Well, if the bus were to be used as a regular bus, meaning that it takes a route to pick up children whose parents are unable to get kids to school, the bus can show people what the bus is used for, which could attract attention and possibly help encourage more students to know and come to our school

Buses also require a special license in order to drive it. All of that may sound serious, but here’s the weakness; Our school already increases one grade every year, which eventually leads to a more crowded car pool in the morning. If a bus can take a regular route, the amount of people who have to pick up students will decrease a bit, which will improve the situation in carpool. Also, more and more people in our school are about to start driving, so the parking lot also has to make room for those who are driving, and it’s possible that the parking lot may get an expansion if there are more drivers anyway. Even so, our current parking lot still has empty spaces right now and also rental cars take up more spaces anyway, not to mention that there are different sizes of school buses depending on what you’re using it for. As for drivers, many teachers in normal schools already have to learn how to drive a bus, in case a regular driver is unable to show up, and since it takes two or three teachers to get to a meeting, maybe we should have the teachers consider learning how to drive a bus, or maybe just find someone who’s already properly

Transporting college student-athletes safely is a one of the biggest issues that administrators face today. Failing to provide safe and dependable transportation can leave a school and administrators at risk for a lawsuit. According to Sharp, Moorman, and Claussen (2014) there are four issues that are related to proper transportation, they are the selection of competent drivers, selection of a safe mode of travel, the proper maintenance of vehicles, and proper training of drivers. If an administrator has a competent driver who is properly trained and a safe mode of transportation with proper maintenance, then if there is an accident there is a smaller chance that the school or administrator would be liable. In the case of Clement v. Griffin it appears that Delgado Community College did not have a competent driver of the vanand the driver was not properly trained.…

This would be a great way to meet people and team mates on the commute to the Centre for a day of fun and games.…

My primary prevention would introduce a school bus system. So students are afforded the opportunity to attend school without any barriers. Due to lack of finances to facilitate transportation to and from school many students stayed home to help their parents take care of their younger siblings, while the most adult person in the family would venture out to work. The less fortunate are being marginalized, and not afforded the quality of education desired because of their financial status. However there were instances of families moving to other communities that were closer to schools and hospitals.…

" According to a study published last week in the journal of epidemiology and community health, people who use public transport were 25% less likely to be obese than those who did not" (Pemberton). This shows that if people who do not ride the bus will mostly be unhealthy than those who do ride the bus. A reason why public transportation helps a lot of students get to school is their parents cannot afford to drop them off at school. For example, their parents may not want their kids to ride a district bus, so they have them ride a public bus to school.…
