Although I stayed in first honors junior and senior year, I was awarded for being in the top ten in class. I graduated with honors as fourth

Similar to the life-changing trials the two men in the short story “A Man Who Had No Eyes” undergo, I am tasked with learning to accept my academic strengths, an issue deriving from my competitive mindset. Throughout my childhood, I’ve always had the confidence of doing well within all areas of my academic life, whether it be my grades, co-curriculars, or relationships with peers and teachers. However, as of beginning my journey in high school, my confidence had whittled down, after realizing that the expectations I established for myself were not as realistic as they had been during my youth. Also, I put time and effort into my extracurricular activities in order to benefit my school’s community. I painted a mural of the Mt.
