While I was in a daze, my mom broke the silence, “I am so proud of my babies! One made the Honor Roll, and the other one had perfect attendance! I want the both of you to keep up the good work because it will all pay off in the end” she pauses then points out, “especially you Ty because colleges are gonna be looking at you. You need to stay focused and keep these girls out of your head. You can worry about them as soon as you get out of college.”
I shook my head in understanding. I heard her tell me this so many times that I can probably recite every word. What she is saying matters to me because it helps me stay focused on what is important and what is important is me being an honor student in school and doing the same thing in college.
