I believe that everything I experience, whether negative or positive, can be used as a learning opportunity. Part of this philosophy stems from my love of theatre, wherein ties a quote from the musical Wicked: “I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason. Bringing something we must learn. And we are lead to those who help us most to grow if we let them. And we help them in return… I know I'm who I am today because I knew you.” If I am accepted into the Honors Program, I know for certain I will be changed for for the better. The people I would meet are extremely similar to me- students that deeply desire to procure a bright future for themselves and those that they impact in their line of work. These opportunities gave me the insight to begin planning my future now, instead of tomorrow. Without the programs at my school, I honestly do not believe I would be starting to consider medical school after college. That is why I strongly believe continuing my education with career-focused programs is so vitally important. No matter how much of my time they might take, I know for certain that I will be a better person and a better doctor as a result of the extra opportunities I sought and hopefully will obtain through the Honors
