In "The Giver", by Lois Lowry I think that the job of the reciever of memories is honorable and does not have power. For example, the reciever of memories (the giver) has already tried before to change something in the community, but he cannot because the Elders don't really listen to him. Then he learns that the job doesn't really have any power to change anything in the community. Furthermore, the difference between power and honor is that when you have power you can change things while with honor you just get respect by people and you cannot necessarily change anything.
