In the recent novel, Chronicles of a Death Foretold, many subjects such as culture and beliefs have come into conflict. For example, honor was the main idea of this story. It was seen all throughout the book and was not difficult to identify. In Chapter 2, Angela was returned to her house after Bayardo suggests she wasn’t pure before her marriage to him. This sparked a downfall of events which lead to the death of Santiago Nasar. His death was justified as a result of honor being reinforced by Angeles brothers. According to the village in which the story took place, this justified their act of murder. I don't understand how that can be acceptable when in Catholicism killing was a sin. It is known that most Latin American countries practice
