Honor Commitment

Honor, Courage, and Commitment have been the corner stone of my personal and professional life. These values were instilled in me over two decades ago as a freshman NROTC midshipman at Miami University. Following graduation I was assigned to Naval Flight Officer Training in Pensacola, Florida. After completion of flight training, I was assigned to Patrol Squadron Four, in Marine Corp Air Base Kaneohe Bay Hi. While assigned to my squadron I had the privilege of serving in the Fifth Fleet AOR in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While assigned to the Fifth Fleet, I flew combat missions over Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa, earning the Combat Air Medal. Also, during this deployment my crew and I were the first aircraft on scene in the joint rescue of four B-1 bomber air crewmen who ejected over the Indian Ocean due to a hydraulic failure. Following my squadron tour, I was assigned to Wing Eleven in Jacksonville Florida where I was a Detachment …show more content…
I started working at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital in 2013. Besides providing care to cardiac and vascular patients, I volunteered for various leadership positions such as Charge Nurse and became ICU trained. Hospital Management has also approached me to seek opportunities within management and hospital administration. However, the right position has not yet presented itself. Even though I feel I am in the right career field, there is still something that is calling me back to naval service. I miss the comradery that can only be found within the Military. I also enjoy the leadership opportunities and the challenges that an Officer faces on a daily basis. I once again seek the opportunity to serve this great country as a Naval Reserve Nurse. I know I can be an asset to any Reserve Unit given my nursing experience and former military background. Thank you for your time and
