Schools that have an honor codes strictly enforced but not excessive, leads to it being known as an “honest” campus. There have been several cases were schools that have enforced honor codes have been disappointed every once in awhile because they have caught students cheating. By having an honor code, plagiarism isn’t entirely deceased, but the number of students plagiarizing is reduced. Because plagiarism is “easier to do” (Khan, Chris) now a days due to the internet which “provides an inexhaustible source of information”, having an honor code can make a “school a richer academic environment.” (Khan, Chris) The honor code is a great help that many schools need in order to reduce the amount of not only plagiarism but also theft in school. Students should be able to feel comfortable while taking a test, and there should be trust between the student and teacher. Schools, especially high schools should consider having an honor code in order have a better environment and higher value in their school
