Honor Code Persuasive Speech

We all know someone that cheats or has cheated before. That’s why I think Hotchkiss High School needs an Honor Code. when someone cheats or plagiarizing, they aren’t learning anything. And the people who do the work, are not getting any credit for what is originally their work. They are pretty much getting robbed. And that is illegal, which is why it needs to stop. We need to teach kids that it’s not okay to cheat, to plagiarize. You can’t go through life cheating. At one point in life, it will catch up to them and there will be severe consequences.
First of all, if kids cheat their way through high school and make it to college, they won’t really know how doing anything. They won’t be able to write an essay, write reports, or even take a test without failing. They would have to cheat their way through college as well. Chris Kahn interviewed and investigated the university of Virginia. They said “157 students were accused of cheating and plagiarizing. That they need to be treated like adults. But some misuse it this. They just want an excuse so they don’t have more rules to go by. But you see if you are mature, then you wouldn’t cheat in the first place. Why did the college kids at the University of Virginia cheat? And it’s not just them. There are so many colleges and schools that cheat and plagiarize their way through. We would learn how to trust each other. We would also learn the meaning of work. Most kids that cheat just don’t want to do the work. Which makes them lazy with everything they do.
