Don’t you just hate when you see a cheater in the act, or when someone tries to cheat off you? If so then don’t let them cheat because it is your work and not theirs to take. Students should take pride in a high grade on an exam because they succeeded with their own knowledge which is far more satisfying knowing that it isn't truly the work of yourself. So, therefore, we should have an honor code you truly make sure people are doing their own work. An honor code at my school would maintain fairness to all students and punish those who feel it is necessary to cheat. An honor code should be student enforced because it keeps students from plagiarism and cheating.

Donald McCabe and Gary Pavela say in their article “many schools with academic honor codes allow students to take their exams without proctors present, relying on peer monitoring to control cheating. This honor code it perfect because students are learning that cheating it not acceptable and if they do cheat their peers will enforce it. Alyssa Vangeli said why she voted for honor codes “I could feel comfortable taking an exam without worrying about someone looking at my paper”. Absolutely, a student should be a to take a test or an exam without feeling that other students is stealing their ideas and taking all the credit. In Alyssa Vangeli article students didn’t like turning in fellow students “They feared that a mandate to confront peers would create friction”. can understand because if your friends it cheating you wouldn’t necessary want to get him or her in trouble.

In conclusion, there should be an honor code or system at my school to truly make sure people are doing their own work. The reasons behind my statement are that an honor code at my school would maintain fairness to all students and punish those who feel it is necessary to cheat. An honor code or system should be student enforced because it keeps students from plagiarism and cheating. The perfect honor system would be run by students who could anonymously report cheating if they knew
