Snorkeling Honolua Bay, Maui, Hawaii
Honolua Bay is a part of Honolua-Mokuleia Marine Conservation District. It is an incredible spot with a breathtaking underwater world and picturesque landscapes around. Honolua Maui is adored by snorkelers from all corners of the world for its amazing formations of corals, a plethora of colorful fish including famed Humuhumunukunukuapuaa and Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles.

Honolua Bay is quite big. The water may be accessed from the beach, by downhill hike or from a boat.

The winter / summer variation in temperature is quite small – about 4oC. The average air and water temperature within winter period is +22oC and within summertime +26oC.
Honolua Bay snorkeling best time is from May until September. Snorkeling conditions at this time are perfect – ocean is flat and calm. From October to April the bay is not always suitable for snorkeling as some large surfs may enter the bay from time to time. It doesn't mean that Honolua snorkeling at winter is not possible, but it’s difficult to predict the snorkel conditions during this time, so your winter snorkeling depends on your luck. During winter Honolua Bay is mostly occupied by surfers.
Honolua Bay is also well-known scuba diving spot and your may combine snorkeling with diving. Honolua Bay best time for diving is the same like for snorkeling.
Where Is Honolua Bay Maui?
Honolua Bay lies on Maui North-West coastline in 20 minutes drive from Lahaina Town and in about 1-hour drive from Kahului Airport. From the car parking lot head along the dirt path through the forest down to the sea (about 100 m).
Kahului Airport is domestic one and accepts flights from the raw of the USA cities. There are domestic flights between Kahului Airport and Honolulu International
