First, the causes of youth suicide will be discussed. The main cause of student suicide in Hong Kong is academic pressure while the cases of youth suicide in Wu Fei’s article are mainly caused by family conflict and suicide become a means of coping family conflicts. There are cases in rural China caused by academic stress, however, the sources of academic pressure are different between Hong Kong and rural China. She worked very hard and went to tutorials every day when she was in secondary school. However, her public examination result was unsatisfactory, she could not receive any offers from universities. She felt sorry for wasting her parent’s money. She felt that her effort was wasted.
