Honduras Mission Journey

My first mission trip was for an organization called 1Nation1Day through my church, Milestone, back home in 2013. The goal was to save the nation of Honduras in one day and continue to pour out love and support to the Hondurans so that they may be disciples for a lifetime. To prepare for the mission we spent the majority of the year 2012 fundraising to provide clothes, shoes, and meals for the Hondurans and were grateful enough to raise $250,000.00. Applications for the mission trip were sent out and anyone could go as long as they could pay for the trip, which cost $3275.00. While fundraising for Honduras I was also working at Subway as well as fundraising for my self through care packages that would be sent to the people of Honduras. I earned enough money to go on the Mission trip and I left for Honduras on July 19, 2013. As the plane pulled into San Pedro, one of several dreadfully violent cities in Honduras, I knew that God would display astounding phenomena in my time there. The mission of my local church endeavored to reach out to the community and ask for just 15 dollars from 15 people in order to provide two orphanages for 100 rescued boys and girls from the clutches of human trafficking. By consecrating my time after school to walking door to door and asking for donations, I gratefully received donations for 1,825 dollars so that I could contribute a positive impact for these 100 children. As a project for the youth in the church, the members rose together over 118,000 dollars towards two orphanages and two water wells.
