Honduras Developing Country

Honduras Honduras is a developing country located in Cental America. Developing countries are typically described as those that facer harsher economic circumstances than a developed country would. They are known to have less developed school systems, governments, economies, and even legal systems. Developing countries don’t necessarily suffer from all of these things but usually a few. The definition of what a developing country consists of is one of much debate and often boils down to what different groups like the IMF agree upon. Labor laws can be similar but usually vary wildly across the world when you compare them to a developed country like the United States of America. The United States doesn’t have detailed contracts that govern every form of employment like Honduras. In America, salaried positions often have job offers that the applicant must sign to accept the position but it doesn’t come anywhere the detail needed in a Honduran contract. Additionally, the wages vary slightly because in America our wages are governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The FLSA “prescribes standards for wages and overtime pay, which affect most private and public employment” (Labor). The American Labor Laws do share a lot in common regarding discrimination however. Like Honduras, America doesn’t allow employers to discriminate based on race, religion, age, sex, and such factors.
