In the Case Study of Honda’s Asimo robot, a wide range of demographics can be explored and applied to this type of technology. Demographics can be descriptive characteristics of a population of consumers such as age, gender, income, or occupation (Salomon, 2016). These consumer demographics and lifestyle characteristics can be used to identify how, when, where, and why potential customers can be identified and targeted from the sale. The first beneficiaries of robotic technology can be found the geriatric community. This age group could certainly benefit from having an Asimo to assist them in their daily living. Having the ability to have a robot at home with age appropriate children would allow parents to have more life flexibility to conduct their daily routines. The robot could help answer homework questions and provide grammatical and theory checks of the child’s work. It can also give security surviellance for safety in the home while parents run errands or pick up other children. The dropcam uses wifi to allow parents the ability to see right inside their homes at anytime just from the touchscreen of their cellphones (Mangu-Ward, 2015).
