Homosexuality Is Nature Or Nurture

A human’s personality come from both heredity and their environment. Personality characteristics attained by heredity are shaped by environment. (Psychology Discussion) Genes are hereditary and can include height, weight, eye color, skin color, or hair color. Environments can shape things like our behavior or our personality. Nature refers to what you inherit from your parents or your genes. Nurture refers to the environment influences. In the 1950’s, homosexuality was actually considered a mental illness. Finally, after a lot of psychological tests, in 1975 homosexuality was no longer a mental illness. Hyperactivity or ADHD is a neurological disorder. There is evidence that ADHD is not due to nurture or bad parenting, while there is also evidence that hyperactivity could also be nurture. (New Ideas) The reason why psychologist are not one hundred percent sure about whether hyperactivity is nature or nurture is because children are getting diagnosed with ADHD for the medicine, but really they are perfectly fine. The facts that support nature are children with ADHD are usually boys, they have male relatives with the same problem, they are overactive in all contexts, and children with ADHD often calm down when they take stimulants like Adderall or coffee.
