Homophobia is the hatred of individuals who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgernderd that is perpetrated by religous extremists, conservative politicians, and ignorant bigots on a daily regime. The unnecessary hatred and disgust towards the LGBT+ community has detrimental effects such as: homelessness, physcial violence, sexual assault, emotional and mental abuse, institutionalized discrimination, and death. The irrationality that is homophobia, prevents individuals from possessing and utilizing their human rights. Homophobic individuals utilize their concerns for the children and discriminatory family values to camouflage their blatant hatred and disgust of the LGBT+ community.
