The impact of bullying towards LGBT students is harsh knowing that they can’t trust anyone at school as they have to return 5/7 days of the week to face the problem again.
In order to reduce the amount of instances where students are bullied and harassed due to their sexual identities, I ask Mr. Grossman to create a curriculum in English classes where there is a unit around homophobia at schools in order to educate students. Students would read stories that talks about the lives of those who are part of the LGBTQ identities such as “Queer Narratives.” Though we have read a short story on LGBTQ identities once this year, this needs to happen more often, because the idea of homophobia might not have clicked into their minds.
