Some might say that the population growth is helping Colorado and helping it in better ways, but facts show that more people are dying. More people dying is not what I would call helping Colorado. Yes, Denver is becoming a big city which is good for Denver because it can be known around the world and it can maybe start to become a city like Los Angeles, but there is a consequence to that and that consequence is crime. And crime is a huge thing when it comes to the city or state, it has impact on everyone in that state. People are killing for unknown circumstances, according to Noelle Phillips of The Denver Post, “Police often weren’t sure why a person was killed. “Unknown circumstances” was the most common reason behind a homicide, and “argument” was second”(Phillips). It is not good when the Police Officers cannot find a reason why a person was killed there is a huge problem. Nearly all crime has been growing because of the population growth in just one year. Colorado is becoming more and more violent and it is really not helping the state. From being born in Denver, Colorado, I have seen a change in population that I really would have never thought. And something I also have seen is the increase in crime having a big impact in Colorado; more people are dying, more cars are being stolen, more violence.
