Homicide Arson Case Study Essay

After reviewing a case study, it is my duty to evaluate and explain the events that have taken place and that have happened. My role will be of a forensic technician and gathered will be the summary of the event, and what steps I would take in recording and processing the scene. An arsenic scene will be unveiled and details will be discussed as if the reports were recorded from a forensic technician. This case also includes homicide. The charges that are suspected will suggest how it should be processed and what resources used that influenced the conclusion. This case is a homicide/arson. It includes a family of four; mother, father, and two sons. Unbeknownst to the children, the father was clearly upset for not having the children in custody. Killed in the home that was engulfed in flames, three bodies will need to be analyzed for further processing. For this subject, we will need to have the bodies analyzed of whatever is left. We want to ensure safety in every one of the area; workers, victims, potential witnesses, etc. following this, we want to make sure all photographs and logs are processed by professionals and take a second look to ensure a thorough investigation is pursued. No one should have to suffer in a fatal case and it is clear as to why it has led to this point. Mr. Powell was upset for not having custody of his children. He committed an arsenic scene which led to his death, along with his sons. He had pornographic scenes which was another charge along with the disappearance of his wife where he was named a person of interest. . A motive could have been that he wanted revenge, financial gain, and/or concealment.
