Homework Thesis Statement

Decent Essays
Homework, which is known to many as torture, doesn't actually benefit students. Believe it or not, homework is one of the main reasons of why students don't enjoy their precious time at school. School is the time where students should be learning, not at home. School is where students are taught how to act in the adult world, and by putting all of the homework assignments on them at one time will tempt some kids to drop out; therefore, worsening there chances for success in the future. Finally, it is aesthetically appealing, enjoyable and fun, because in a utopian system students could self-direct their homework; but in most cases, they are creating something that is designed, inspired, and driven by their…

Fifteen million students in the United States high school system are faced with a growing epidemic that is creating large amounts of stress and is taking away from the education of students. On average, students in the educational system receive three hours or more per night and even more work over the weekends. However, the academic success fails to show any substantial direct correlation with homework. Many teachers give out assignments, not for the overall academic, but instead to create extra grades in the system.
