First of all, homework causes stress on students. We may as well just spend all day at school if we are having school at home anyways. Students should go to school, work on “school” work, then come home and not do “school” work at home. This would increase the productivity and attitudes of students. I, for one, would be in a much better mood concerning school if I knew that I didn’t have to look forward to coming home to more school work.…

Kids tend to score lower on standardized tests. Obviously, schools shouldn’t give homeworks because their health decreases, it barely makes an impact, and it actually makes the juveniles score lower standard tests. To begin, schools shouldn’t give out homework because the students health decreases. According to http://neatoday.org/2014/05/13/should-schools-be-done-with-homework/, it states, “In April, Denise Pope, a researcher at Stanford University, found that too much homework can negatively affect kids by increasing stress and sleep deprivation and generally leaving less time for family, friends, and activities.” This leads to having no time for hanging with friends and family.…

If kids didn’t have to worry about getting certain assignments done for the next day, I do agree with Darter that, kids would have more time to be kids. In her article Darter refers to a study done at Duke University. The study showed that “all it does is negatively impact kids’ attitudes towards school, learning, and their parents(the homework enforcers).” This research shows, not proves, that homework does have an effect on studies ability to do well in…

That’s all that matters, right? There’s no time for homework at all, because you’re at the school until about 5 or 6 at night doing extracurriculars like sports and clubs. Then, you have a decent amount of homework to complete on top of that. If someone is in extracurriculars, they spend about 10 hours at the school each weekday. That’s about 42% of the day spent at school.…

I believe kids should have no homework. I believe kids should have no homework because they already have 7hrs of school. I mean why should kids have homework ( kids brains are not fully developed ) when adults work the same hours as kids go to schools and and they come home exhausted and don't have to do anything. Another reason why kids should not have homework is kids need sun and exercise instead of being cooped up inside doing homework; If this does not happen kids could get really ill. Which leads us to our next point kids brains are still growing which means that by the time they get done with homework they will usually forget by the next day.…

Homework has been in school curriculum for generations, but some results show that it does little to boost academic achievement. Many people feel that the amount of homework schools are giving is too much, teachers and assigning more homework than the recommended amount causing side effects. Excessive homework for students is a recent and important issue that needs to be dealt with. Schools all around the world have started moving toward a less fearful, insecure, and unhappy environment by not giving as much homework to students like schools in Finland, excessive homework for students is taking away from family bonding and outdoor time, causing physical health problems, and high stress levels. Abeles writes, " daily homework of many students is as long as lawyers, teachers, medical residents. " I agree many students get a lot of homework in a day from all the classes combined. To a teacher assigning homework may think that he/she is not giving a lot of homework for the night, but combined with all the other teacher's homework kids get overworked. I can remember a time in high school when I got math homework about 20 questions. Then I went to my English class and had to read a chapter from a book and answer a few questions.…

With that being said, families can grow closer and become more involved with the education. (teach-nology cite) Getting uplifting comments from the student’s teacher, can put an impact on their confidence and self-esteem. but I personally do not like homework. Also, most of the time, the work is difficult and you barely even touched that topic in class. This can be a problem because some kids get really stressed and they know that the work is due the next day but they can’t finish it. Sometimes, if you are not a fast worker, homework gets in the way of family time and free time. Some families require free time and it is not an option, so some people can’t finish their homework.…

Time that can be better spent is with family and having fun participating in extracurricular activities. Eliminating homework allows students the reward of free time and the invaluable time spent with family. Homework creates unnecessary stress and strain for parents and students alike. Also, homework allows teachers to pawn off their own teaching responsibilities to students and parents with hours of homework. If you asked me two years ago if I thought homework posed as a benefit I would say absolutely not. After graduating elementary school almost four years ago and starting to get real homework, I would disagree. Although it's not my favorite hobby, it remains very valuable in my life and will continue as a part of my life for quite a while. I believe homework exceeds in benefits and can help you on tests, help you learn to manage time and assume more self discipline and can even influence others. To begin, homework grants awards because it helps you on tests.…

There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…
