Should the amount of homework be decreased for students? Well, here are a couple reasons why amounts of homework should be decreased. Picture a late school night. You have just got home from a sporting event and still have an amazing amount of homework to conquer for the next day. The amount of homework for an teenager is proven that many teens are very stressed with way too much homework and studying for many tests(debate.org). In many cases, students believe the amount of homework from each class is causing them to be overwhelmed, and hard to maintain good grades. This is why I believe the amount of homework should be decreased. Three reasons for less homework include: more sleep, less stress, and more opportunities to join more clubs and activities. …show more content…
As a result, most are bombarded with homework every day, causing teens to stay up extra hours in the night more and more. Obviously, this is affecting health and learning abilities as a developing teenagers. Staying up late could cause more stress and students to be tired causing them to not learn to their best ability(studentneeds.com). No sleep from staying up to finish homework, leads to no good grades and test scores will go down. Even if students were to go to bed at a decent time, homework still wouldn’t be finished. As a result, kids would have to lose more sleep in the morning to get up and finish homework. Each way is a lose lose situation. In my experience staying up late causes me to not only to be tired but, in an awful mood causing me not want to do my work in class and have even more homework to make
