Homeward: A Case Study

Decent Essays
Here at Homeward, we offer superb health care along with shelter. Compared to any other hospital we have the easiest process for our veterans, all they have to do is, show their veterans ID, make a payment if possible, have a health evaluation, have to be willing to help themselves. Veterans who have insurance or can pay a monthly fee can have treatment of their choice. Veterans who do not have insurance or cannot pay are helped by the Emergency Medical Treatment and The Active Labor Act, same as other hospitals, or by our board of directors and shareholders pockets. The Emergency Medical Treatment Active Labor Act requires hospitals to treat patients regardless of their ability to pay, citizenship, or even legal status.

After completing active duty service, many veterans return home with lifelong injuries. In most cases these veterans rely on VA hospitals for their medical care. This is a benefit promised to veterans who have sacrificed both physical and mental health for the country they love. These men and women should not be on waiting lists for so long, that the veteran dies before ever receiving the care promised. Veterans should not be driving great distances to a VA when there are doctors and hospitals close to home.…

There are so many aspects to the healthcare field that affect the “Iron Triangle”. It is up to us as healthcare manager to know healthcare in and out so we can implement and decide what direction we need to direct our staff everyday.. We need to understand the impact modern medicine has, why healthcare cost is rising, what major issues we are facing, understanding Medicaid and Medicare and the current state of national health policy. If we were to change one thing it would have to be that there would be a cap on how things are charged so that people were not overcharged for something just because the doctor can. This would help the health care system so much in having a budget to plan for national epidemics.…

Mooney goes into depth about the myths and realities of welfare and the perspectives individuals hold towards those who are in lower and higher classes. I personally did not like this piece, I’m not a fan of the medium used, but nevertheless I found it interesting. In my opinion, the low value and intensity of the yellows and greens are unappealing, I think they make this train or bus seem outdated and old, or just dirty.…
