In 2015, we moved to the United States because of a business opportunity from a family friend. We stayed there for a year and a half. During that time, I also went to highschool in Texas. However, we had to go back to the Philippines in November 2016, and that meant I had to drop from my high school and restart my junior year.
In the Philippines, students go through 6 years of high school: junior high. The first level of high school is called junior high school, and it encompasses Grades 7-10. This is more general, and prepares students for the next level of high school: senior high school. To enter senior high school, one must prove completion of junior high school, and it involves 2 years of high school before college. In senior high, students choose a track to take such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences), or Music. When we arrived in the Philippines, my parents tried to put me to 11th grade, but they were unable to do so since we had to present a proof of graduation. Apart from that, school has already started in the Philippines, with some already starting their second semesters. This left us with no choice but to go through 11th grade through homeschooling.
