Homeschooling Disadvantages

Parents always want what’s best for their kids. It’s always their goal to make sure their children are happy and healthy for as long as they live. It’s a common instinct for parents to want to keep their children away from the evil bullies at school, and remove them from the distractions that may come along with school that interfere with their grades. As many parents blame public schools for not providing the best education for the children, homeschooling may seem like the best option. However, parents fail to realize all of the consequences homeschooling comes along with. Children should not be homeschooled because they will miss out on extracurricular activities, social skills, and will be limited to only communicating with their parents which may cause attachment issues. Homeschooling affects education in the future, as there are some subjects parents may not feel qualified to teach, future relationships, and being unable to interact with people who have high authority. Not even just parents, but family and siblings living with them as well. Since homeschooled children spend so much time with their parents, the thought of them leaving for even a second will frighten them. This also increases sibling rivalry as it might make them fight over the affection they get from their parents.
