The Life of a Single Mother I wonder how it felt to be in Penelope’s shoes with Telemachus. She was a single mother raising Telemachus threw out his whole life because his dad Odysseus had go to the Trojan war. She was a very indepent women and responisble when Odysseus was gone. I bet she had a hard time, but she was a good mother. She tought him how to do many things. She raised him to be a good man like his father. Penelope made sure that Telemachus was strong and unstopable. I bet it is very hard to be a single mother. You have to work harder than anyone and make sure that everything is in place. “If he gets in a fight in school, I don’t know what I’m supposed to tell him to do” (Foerstner 1). In the article one mother is saying she doesn’t know what to tell her son if he gets into a fight at school. Being a single mother like Penelope they don’t know what to do because they aren’t strong and more girly and don’t know what to do …show more content…
“There was no time for a movie in the evening or bowling. I kept having to give up things I wanted to do with the boys” (Foerster 2). Another statement in the article where it states that you had no time on your hands. The point is as being a single parent you had no time for yourself only for jobs and the kids. You have so much to deal with but you want to be a good mom so you give up everything to make sure your kids have it all and make sure that they are happy because that’s your main priority. Being in Penelope shoes you had no time so whatever. You wanted to raise your kid to the very best. As a point saying being a single mother it is every difficult but Penelope was a very good mother. She gave up a lot so Telemachus could be the son he is now and how he is a lot like his father. And his father is a very strong man and she manage to raise a kid just like him. So that makes Penelope a very good mother that she
