Homer's Odyssey: Is Odysseus A Hero?

A hero will protect people, has noble qualities, and is admired. Breaking and entering followed by stabbing the homeowner and killing his people are all qualities that no hero should have. Odysseus is one of those characters that are debated about whether he was a hero or not. The Odyssey by Homer shows how Odysseus is not a hero is a murderer, harmful to people and monsters alike, and a thief.
Odysseus’s people got maimed for both his direct and indirect actions. Circe and Odysseus talk about what he will have to face on his journey home and he learns that if his men at the cattle on Thrinacia he will be the only survivor. After facing the monsters and heading towards Thrinacia Odysseus still neglecting to tell his men about what will happen
